REST · Phase One
Release
Let go of what was never yours to carry.
The world has a way of handing you things and walking away before you can ask whether you even wanted them. The expectations. The roles. The weight of everyone else's feelings and needs and messes. By the time most of us stop to look at what we're actually carrying, we've been holding it so long that we don't notice the load anymore. It's just become who we are.
Release is the first phase of Restorize™ for a reason. Before you can rest, you have to set something down. Before you can rise, you have to let go of what's been holding you in place.
This phase is not about forgetting. It's not about pretending the hard things didn't happen or deciding that the people who handed you their burdens meant to hurt you. It's about getting honest. It's about sitting down with yourself, going through everything you've been carrying, and asking one question for each piece: is this actually mine?
Some of it is. Some of it isn't. Release is where you start to know the difference.
What this looks like in real life: you stop apologizing for things that aren't your fault. You notice when you've taken on responsibility that belongs to someone else. You start to feel something lighten. Not all at once, and not without some grief about what you're putting down. But lighter. There is a version of your life where you are not responsible for everything and everyone. Release is how you begin to find it.
